Happy Thanksgiving everyone, from all of us here at Steelers Wire. Thanksgiving is the time when friends and family come together and look back on all the things they are grateful for. Sometimes Thanksgiving also means football. THE Pittsburgh Steelers I’ve had some pretty memorable Thanksgiving games, but I’m taking the day off this year.
So we decided to participate in our annual tradition of letting everyone know the things we’re grateful for this year with these Steelers.
This aggressive front office
For years, many of us thought things went pretty well with Kevin Colbert at the helm. But in a short period of time, our eyes were opened and we are very grateful that this roster is now under the care of general manager Omar Khan and assistant general manager Andy Weidl. This is a big reason why this team is currently 8-3 and leads the AFC North.
Najee Harris
We love Jaylen Warren, but if you don’t want Najee Harris to put on a huge match every week, what are you doing with your life? Harris embodies what it means to be a Steeler and is the only guy we can say comes to play every week and gives maximum effort.
Head Coach Mike Tomlin
I know not everyone will agree with this because there is a large percentage of Steeler Nation that wants him gone, but we don’t care. We are grateful for Tomlin and the consistency he brings to a franchise that prides itself on consistency. We see franchises wallow year after year and burn coaches to no avail.
Your Steelers brothers and sisters all over the country
This is one that Steelers players should be grateful for, but it applies to all of us. Seeing Steelers fans flood stadiums in a sea of black and gold is something no other team can boast and this level of passion and commitment is something we are very grateful for. For reference, the photo above is from Las Vegas, not Pittsburgh.
Chris Boswell
If we were comparing Steelers players to our favorite Thanksgiving foods, Chris Bowell is the glazed and smoked ham. He is the highlight of the show, always the star of the table and impossible to beat. The other team’s strong suit is this oven-dried turkey. Boswell has been this team’s best threat in years and ranks as one of the best players we look forward to watching every week, along with Najee Harris.
