GARDENS OF MIAMI — The Miami Dolphins have a slim chance of making the NFL playoffs due to their 5-7 start.
Every year the Dolphins need to recharge their batteries, but now is a good time to look ahead to some of the Dolphins.scheduled to become a free agent after this season.
A review of Miami’s pending free agents reveals they may need to replace starting safeties Jevon Holland and Jordan Poyer and starting guards Liam Eichenberg and Robert Jones.
The Dolphins need to get younger, so would they want to sign older free agents like Poyer, Calais Campbell, Odell Beckham, Jr. and/or Emmanuel Ogbah?
Not listed below are linebacker Anthony Walker, Jr., defensive tackle Benito Jones, special teamer/linebacker Duke Riley, special teamer/defensive back Siran Neal, running back Jeff Wilson and returner Braxton Berrios.
It’s certainly possible that Miami brings back one or more, although Miami could count on Malik Washington as their punt returner in 2025.
The Dolphins can hope that Patrick Paul can replace Kendall Lamm as the third offensive tackle. Lamm said this is likely his final season.
