CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Chuba Hubbard reached a milestone Sunday that has only been achieved a few times throughout the year. Carolina Panthers history.
With 92 rushing yards against the Philadelphia Eagles, Hubbard crossed the 1,000-yard mark for the season. This is the first four-digit season of Hubbard’s four-year career and only the eighth such season for a Panthers player.
Hubbard is the sixth different running back to accomplish this feat. Other Carolina running backs to reach 1,000 rushing yards include Christian McCaffrey (2018, 2019), DeAngelo Williams (2008, 2009), Johnathan Stewart (2009), Stephen Davis (2003) and Anthony Johnson (1996). in a single season.
Hubbard stood out all season in improving the Panthers’ offense. He averaged 4.7 yards per carry and scored seven rushing touchdowns. He ranked sixth in the league in rushing yards heading into Sunday’s game and has a chance to move up to fifth based on the performance of Rams running back Kyren Williams.

In the Panthers’ 20-17 overtime victory over the New York Giants, Hubbard had his best performance of the season. He finished with 153 rushing yards and a touchdown. Hubbard has three 100-yard games this season.
The Panthers drafted Hubbard in the fourth round of the 2021 draft out of Oklahoma State. He started 10 games and had over 600 yards in his rookie season after McCaffrey’s injury. He returned to the starting role in 2023 and finished with over 900 rushing yards.
Williams had the best rushing season in Panthers history in 2008 with 1,515 rushing yards and 18 rushing touchdowns. Hubbard is on pace to finish with just over 1,300 yards, which would give him the fourth-best rushing season in Panthers history.
