The Cincinnati Bengals have a very slim chance of sneaking into the playoffs based on the results from early in Week 16.
Certainly, the Bengals need some serious help in addition to winning the rest of their games. They need the Denver Broncos to keep losing, as well as losses to the Indianapolis Colts and Miami Dolphins.
But fans and media can’t help but love the idea of Joe Burrow sneaking into the playoffs.
Burrow has been playing at an MVP level for most of the season and if the team wins, he could have a good chance in this conversation.
But more importantly, the Bengals’ arrival could mean Burrow gets a chance against both Buffalo and Kansas City, in some order, and anything can happen in the playoffs.
Here’s a look at the budding hype around the Bengals that could potentially bring Burrow into the playoffs to cause a little chaos:
At 9-6, the Chargers now have a 98% chance of making the playoffs, according to ESPN Analytics; they can clinch a spot as early as Sunday if the Colts (vs. Titans) and Dolphins (vs. 49ers) both lose.
