Who knew Dameon Pierce had burners like this?
THE Houston Texans The third-year running back remained mostly untouched as he drove for a 92-yard touchdown run to put Houston up two points against the Tennessee Titans.
Pierce now owns two of the four longest touchdown runs in history Texans franchise history. His 75-yard scoring run as a rookie ranks fourth while his 92-yard run is behind only Lamar Miller, who scored for 97 yards in 2018.
With just one score, Pierce nearly doubled his total of 117 yards for the 2024 season.
The Texans’ backup running back saw his numbers greatly reduced with the arrival of Joe Mixon, who rushed for 1,000 yards this season.
Pierce also struggled with injuries throughout the 2024 season, missing six games. Entering Sunday, he had 21 carries for 117 yards and a touchdown. Pierce now has two runs of 50 yards or more this season.
Although Pierce hasn’t been able to capture the same magic as a rookie out of the backfield, he has been one of the best kick returners in the league.
With eight kick returns, Pierce averaged 38.13 yards per return.
