THE Arizona Cardinals aren’t in the playoffs, but some future Cardinals players could be, since free agency begins in March.
The Los Angeles Chargers and Houston Texans will play the first game of the weekend in the wild card round, which begins Saturday at 4:30 p.m. ET.
The Chargers have a number of players expected to hit free agency.
Here are some of those future free agents who could be targets or potential targets for the Cardinals.
QB Taylor Heinicke
While it’s probably unlikely the Cardinals will pursue a quarterback in free agency, many believe they should. Heinicke could give the Cardinals a better backup option than Clayton Tune.
CB Kristian Fulton
It will be interesting to see if cornerback will be a priority after the signing of Sean Murphy-Bunting last year, especially after the drafting of Max Melton in 2024 and the emergence of Garrett Williams. But Fulton was drafted by the Tennessee Titans when Cardinals general manager Monti Ossenfort was their manager or player staff. Fulton could be a player to watch if the position is resolved.
WR DJ Chark
It seems like his name comes up every offseason. He had a disappointing 2024 with just four catches in seven games, but he has size and blazing speed. He seems like a perfect fit, so if the Cardinals are looking for a receiver this offseason, he fits the profile.
LB Troy Dye
The Cardinals could move on from Kyzir White. Dye isn’t a starter for the Chargers, but he plays a lot of special teams and may be ready to make a Mack Wilson-style move.
Joshua Palmer
He had 39 catches for 584 yards last season and is only 25 years old.
