Today, CBS Sports invited the New Orleans Saints star Cam Jordan to join the in-studio analysts for the AFC Wild Card game between the Denver Broncos and Buffalo Bills. He also had the opportunity to make fun of the former Atlanta Falcons quarterback. Matt Ryan. Jordan’s 23 sacks of Ryan are an NFL record for a player sacking a signal-caller.

As always, Jordan provided excellent analysis, especially when looking at the complexities of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In a recent segment titled “Slam, Bam, thank you, Cam” on CBS Sports, the star defensive end spoke about the challenges facing the Tampa Bay Buccaneers – particularly Baker Mayfield.

“Baker has every weapon at his disposal. He can beat you on the ground, in the air,” Jordan said. He praised receiver Mike Evans, describing him as an underrated talent despite his impressive track record. Evans tied Jerry Rice’s record of 11 consecutive 1,000-yard seasons last season.

Jordan noted that the lineup of weapons — Baker Mayfield, Mike Evans and Bucky Irving — made them a solid offensive team. Nonetheless, one aspect that commanders should be aware of is Mayfield’s ability to be a dual threat.

Cam Jordan reflects on the growing importance of Edge Rushers in the NFL, a position that has gained significant recognition in recent years. Jordan humorously affirmed this transition from the status of “kind of” superstars to that of “definitely” superstars.

With a deep appreciation for his pass-rushing colleagues, Cam gave some love to a few underrated players he admires. “Guys all over the league like Nick Bonitto to Denver or the Ravens Justin Madubuike“, noted Jordan, highlighting the diversity of talent in the different teams.

He also paid tribute to his former teammates, Kaden Ellis (Atlanta), Zach Baun (Philadelphia), and Trey Hendrickson (Cincinnati), all of whom have been excellent this season. Jordan thinks Hendrickson deserves to be named AP Defensive Player of the Year for his 17.5 sack season.

Last week, Tony Dungy surprised Cam Jordan at the Saints premises by announcing that his peers had elected him Bart Starr Award Recipient. This is a testament to the league’s players’ recognition of Jordan’s integrity, leadership and positive influence in the NFL community.

He spoke modestly about the honor, attributing his values to his upbringing and the role model he strives to be for his children. “It says a lot about how my parents raised me,” Jordan explained of the significance of the award. The Bart Starr Prize is awarded annually by Athletes in actiona Ministry of Sports affiliated with the CRU.

I met Cam Jordan when he was 3 years old. I coached with the Vikings and his dad Steve was a tight end for us. It came full circle and a real pleasure for me to be the one to inform him that he had been selected as this year’s Bart Starr Man of the Year. https://t.co/1O5XRjUS8j

Despite this distinction, he humorously noted that his on-field personality might not match the award’s distinguished criteria, saying, “I do my best to hold them long at every moment” about his opponents. However, this mixture of humor and humility makes Cam Jordan an admirable and accessible figure.

Cam Jordan’s track record speaks for itself. The New Orleans Saints defensive legend recorded 121.5 career sacks during his career. He joked, “Still 5.5 in the playoffs.” If Jordan posted several more sacks, he would be in the top 20 all-time NFL sack leaders, closing in on the ranks of Colts legends like Robert Mathis (123) and Dwight Freeney (125.5).

“Sacks are fun,” Jordan admitted, but he prides himself on being a dominant force in running and passing. After 14 seasons, 226 games, 716 tackles and 121.5 sacks during his impressive career, he was still missing one thing: a Super Bowl title.

Jordan recognizes there is still work to be done with the Saints and he is committed to being a part of it.

Cam concluded: “I hope the 15th year is the case. We don’t know what’s going on with the head coach, or the DC, or anything else. But my mind, as long as ‘It’s in the black and gold, I’m going to show up and bring these hands to work every day.

New Orleans drafted Jordan out of California as the 24th selection in the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft.

Saints Hall of Famers Drew Brees and Reggie Bush recently publicly endorsed Aaron Glenn as their top choice for the next Saints head coach.

The former teammates interviewed the media in support of Glenn’s candidacy during an interview with New Orleans this week. Glenn, 52, has the experience, leadership qualities and understanding of New Orleans culture that make him an excellent candidate for the Saints’ opener.

Drew Brees: Drew Brees, who played with Glenn in 2008 and was still with the team when Glenn joined the Saints coaching staff in 2016, named “Aaron Glenn as his first choice” for the coaching job -chief, according to journalist Chrissy Froyd.

Reggie Bush: Drew’s teammate Reggie Bush threw his support hat into the ring for Aaron Glenn. Bush said, “You see how much he’s changed this defense this year. Even with the injuries they’ve had, they’re still playing at a high level. I think that’s the ultimate testament to a coach, that you’re a good coach or not.”
