The Green Bay Packers faced the Philadelphia Eagles in the playoffs on Sunday night. A Green Bay victory would have seen the team travel to the Motor City to face rival Detroit Lions in the divisional round. However, the Packers lost to the Eagles despite a strong performance from running back Josh Jacobs.
Jacobs ran for 81 yards Sunday night in Philadelphia. He added another 40 yards on three catches during the game. But it wasn’t enough. The Eagles earned a 22-10 victory over Green Bay on Sunday. They will host the winners of the Minnesota Vikings and Los Angeles Rams, who will play Monday night in Arizona.
After the match, Jacobs quit an interesting clue regarding the offseason. “Our locker room is going to be different. We have guys who are due to sign a contract this year. We don’t know what it’s going to look like, how it’s going to change, but I know I’m going to try to get some guys here,” the Packers running back said, via Matt Schneidman of The Athletic.

Josh Jacobs and the Packers were certainly hoping to make a deeper playoff run. After all, Green Bay was one ride away from the NFC championship game last season. However, that wasn’t meant to be. The Packers are returning home and preparing for the offseason.
In some ways, it’s not too hard to see where things went wrong. Green Bay was a good team this season and beat other very good teams. In saying that, they failed to take out the best of the best. Including the playoffs, they have lost six games this year. The six losses came against the Eagles, Lions and Vikings.
Injuries certainly haven’t helped matters either. Packers star Jordan Love wasn’t 100 percent heading into that game against Philadelphia. Additionally, Green Bay lost several key players to injury on Sunday. Everything piled up and Green Bay couldn’t overcome it.
The 2025 season looks promising for this team. However, the loss to the Eagles will certainly sting all summer long. Let’s see what the Packers front office does to try to contend for a Super Bowl this offseason.
