Bengals’ Amarius Mims aims for lofty 2025 goal after recovering from injury

Cincinnati Bengals offensive tackle Amarius Mims (71) during a timeout at Paycor Stadium on Sunday, November 3, 2024.

Cincinnati Bengals rookie offensive tackle Amarius Mims shook off a broken hand to play in his team’s season-closing victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Now, Mims looks to his sophomore year with major goals as he enters 2025 as a guaranteed starter at right tackle.

“I watch all my games. Come back even better,” Mims said, according to Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com. “I’m not giving good or bad results to my first year. I’m just saying there are a lot of things I need to correct and I will continue to correct them.”

Mims appeared to have a starting line-up as a rookie against Trent Brown before an injury setback before the season. He finally found his way onto the field and appeared to achieve some of that high ceiling that came with his draft stock.

Along the way, Mims turned in some memorable performances, including combining with others to pitch a shutout against Pittsburgh’s TJ Watt in the finale.

If Mims can stay on the field, there’s no reason to think he can’t continue to climb the ranks, which would effectively put him in the conversation among the best in the conference.
