MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) – Minnesota Vikings Security Cam Bynum posted on his Instagram late last week that he would be doing a meet and greet at the FanHQ store at Ridgedale Mall.
Hundreds of fans came out to meet one of the most popular players on the roster. Bynum also spoke with FOX 9’s Pierre Noujaim about his potential future in Minnesota. Bynum was a fourth-round pick of the Vikings in 2021 and is eligible for free agency when the NFL league year opens in March.
He hopes it doesn’t come to that.
“I don’t know what it’s like, but I’m praying to be back here,” Bynum said. “I’ve loved everything about my four years here, the community, even outside the building. As a Viking, there’s nothing better. I pray it works out.”
Bynum’s season
Why it’s important: Bynum started every game this season for the Vikings and finished with 96 tackles in the regular season. He also had three of Minnesota’s NFL-leading 24 interceptions this season and added two fumble recoveries.
Bynum the choreographer
What we know: The Vikings celebrated their takeaways and Bynum was one of the defense’s main choreographers. Dances included the “Parent Trap” handshake, a dance to “White Chicks”, as well as “Camp Rock” and even a tribute to Australian Olympic break dancer Raygun.
Bynum is a fan favorite and well respected in the locker room. He’s in line for a bigger role on defense if he returns, with the possibility of Harrison Smith retiring.
