The Los Angeles Chargers appeared in a recent NFL trade buzz involving Seattle Seahawks wideout DK Metcalf.
Granted, this trade buzz was just an anonymous NFL executive throwing something around. But it does add up to the obvious: The Chargers need help throughout the offense to better space things out for Ladd McConkey.

As random and bizarre as it may seem, Chargers fans undoubtedly loved it and it appears at least one current player saw it and liked it as well.
Chargers linebacker Daiyan Henley launched on Instagram and shared older footage of him training in the off-season with Metcalf, both in photo and video format. If nothing else, it showed that the players are very in tune with what is being said around and about the team during the offseason.
In reality, it’s unclear whether the Chargers would cough up what would likely be prime assets in a trade for Metcalf (or whether the Seahawks would even consider it). In addition to business costs, Metcalf is entering the final year of a contract that has a $31.9 million cap hit, which could go down, provided he gets a massive long-term extension when he arrives.
The idea of Metcalf with Justin Herbert may be fun, but it’s also worth pointing out the perceived difficulties, since last year he caught just 66 of 108 targets. The previous year, 66 out of 119.
Regardless, Chargers players certainly see the trade discussions and have subtle ways of commenting on them and staying involved in the conversation.
