The most surprising rental by the Chicago Bears and coach Ben Johnson for their new coach staff were Declan Doyle, 28, the former coach of Denver Broncos tight, as an offensive coordinator.
It is a huge act of faith of Johnson, at least it seems.
In truth, the offensive coordinator of the Bears will have a unique role in relation to typical OCs. With Johnson calling for games, Doyle will mainly serve a key information breaker.
Doyle should prosper in this role, in which he already kisses.
“Basically, I have to do this job that [Johnson’s] I’m not going to have time to do, and he should be able to trust me that I will give him the correct information he needs as a decision maker, ” Doyle said Halas Hall Thursday. “And really throughout the week, rationalizing the progress of teaching to players, ensuring that everything is built around them. Myself, well and the rest of the staff, we will not take a Cliché this year.
You can see why Johnson hired this guy.
Let’s face it, Johnson needs an attacking coordinator with Red Bull flowing in their veins. Doyle’s youth is an asset in this regard; It will have the type of energy required for late nights and long hours of study of the film.
The best thing about the first impression of Doyle with the media is how clearly it is a real football. His passion for the game stands out and the Bears will benefit from his coach energy.
“Me and Ben will have to spend a ton of time together to dive into the film. I am really excited to be able to go doing this,” said Doyle. “And make sure I see the game in the same way as he sees it, to be able to orchestrate it and put the table and make sure that we do it as he wants.”
