Falcons have expanded the functions of one of their offensive coaches.
According to Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports, Atlanta promoted the quarter coach TJ Yates to pass the game coordinator.
Yates, 37, is one of the Falcons coaches staff since 2021, while he was hired as a specialist in the game of previous head coach Arthur Smith. He was promoted coach of the recipients in 2022 and was retained under the current coach Raheem Morris as a coach of the QB in 2024.
As Jones noted, Yates will probably have the opportunity to become an attacking coordinator in 2026 if the second-year quarterrier Rising Michael Penix has a solid 2025.
Piscal from Fifth Ronde des Texans in 2011, Yates led the franchise to his very first victory in the playoffs as a recruit. He appeared in 22 games with 10 departures for Texans, Falcons and Dolphins in his career before suspending him after the 2017 season.
He began his coach career with the Texans as an offensive assistant in 2019 and was promoted to assistant QB assistant coach in 2020.
